Cooking

Foreign Foods and Fabrics is an intermediate course offered to 7th and 8th grade students. Students will learn about cultures from around the world as they relate to cuisine and food traditions. This course offers students an opportunity to select recipes and prepare foods as they become familiar with kitchen equipment and appropriate lab/safety procedures.

Students will learn how to be safe in the kitchen including first aid, knife safety, food safety, and proper cooking techniques.

Tools & Terms

Students will learn how to use a variety of tools in the kitchen and learn important cooking terms.

Recipes

Students will learn how to read and follow recipes while also learning how to properly measure ingredients.
